I headed down to Orlando with my cousin Thursday morning - unfortunatly missing the Macy's parade - and chilled with the familia for a few hours and had a nice brunch/Thanksgiving dinner thing. I then headed to the airport with my Aunt Kathy, Aunt Ginny and Kathy's four kids. The trip up wasn't too bad; watched the second half of The Island (was reading for the first half. Mmm...Stephen King), had a little nap at one point. Then, we headed out to the train platform and waited for the train to Penn Station. It was COLD. Like, 30's cold. I ended up standing on the train 'cause there wasn't enough seats, but it was only two stops from the Newark airport to NYC, so it wasn't too bad. We then hopped on the subway and came to the youth hostel. For folks who don't know, it's basically a boarding house where you're in a room with about 5-6 other peoples. It's hella cheap, 'specially for New York; $120 for four nights ain't too shabby. After getting settled in and snagging some pizza, I turned in for the night.
I woke up at about 8:45 this morning, then headed to the communal showers on the second floor. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting, although I had flashbacks to the showers in the dorm in Kentucky. After that, we snagged a bit of breakfast, then headed out. We first went to the Cathadral of St. John the Divine, a really cool-looking chruch down the street from the hostel. Got a coupla pics of the artwork from there; I'll be posting everything up on my Photobucket once I get home. After that, we headed down town and went shopping for a while. Lunch consisted of a hot dog and a Pepsi in Central Park, then we went down to the ice skating rink in the park. I was very proud of the fact that I didn't fall ONCE. =D After the skating, we headed back to the hostel, and here I be.
El should be calling me soon, so I should ramble. See you guys later! *walks off humming "New York, New York"*
